While many of you are still unsure of this thing called Paleo, I'm rolling along and feeling almost as good as I was Pre-Greyson. I've found a new awesome Crossfitting gym(http://www.facebook.com/pages/CrossFit-Regeneration/217953861620176) that has child care and I can finally (11 months later) do something for myself. I'm starting to feel like my old self. Well, not entirely like my old self. Seems birthing a child takes a toll on your body, who would have thought it. Not to mention, Greyson is kind of like the ever growing child. He was teething at 3 months, and got his first tooth at 5 months, then came 5 more right after and currently he's working on 7 and 8 and also appears to possibly be getting some back molars? This first year has been rough on all of us.
Now that he's almost one and he's starting a Mothers Day Out program (Hallelujah) I've got to start packing him a lunch. I even bought him his own lunch bag today. I didn't think I'd have to do that for a while. So its time to start thinking of what can I pack him that will be easy to eat, paleo friendly, and not to much work for the dear sweet ladies taking care of him. Packing your child's lunch doesn't have to be difficult. You add meats, fruits, veggies and nuts. Sounds simple doesn't it? Well it is, it's only as complicated as you make it. Also I've found a cool bakery that makes paleo bread. Do WHAT??? Yep, that's right paleo bread. Check them out here, http://www.julianbakery.com/. It does seem to simplify my life when I want a quick snack or if I'm craving some of that wheat, grain filled lead that seems to upset my whole body chemistry when I eat it. Bread people. I'm talking about bread.
Speaking of paleo breads, guess what Greyson is getting for his first birthday? A paleo birthday cake! Yahhhh I know you are all so excited for him. I found a very cool company online that has mixes, paleo, gluten free etc, that you can purchase and then bake yourself, http://www.whitelionbakingco.com/. The owner is super sweet and just took it over 2 months ago from another couple. She has all kinds of awesome mixes and recipes that you can purchase from her.
I love how all the Paleo community comes together and offers advice and support to one another. I feel like we are making more progress within the community and teaching more people every day about a healthier lifestyle.
Anywhoooo..my child is in bed and I better put myself there since we have yet another busy day tomorrow.

Day of LoooVeee
Valentines Day is just around the corner..and you know what that means. Time to break out the kinky... People act like its a love kind of holiday and sweet this and sweet that but really everyone just is waiting to break out the leather and lace and Get it On! (except for me mom, I'm still a virgin)
In case you do decide to go with something sweet, something thoughtful along with whatever else floats your boat, here are a few of my favorite things. Not that you should get me something, (although that isn't a bad idea..) but in case you've run out of ideas after 10, 20 or 30 years of blissful togetherness.
1. Maximum Fitness Gift Certificate (www.maxfitstudio.com) for yourself from your loved one. See if you buy it for yourself from them, then you want to look better for them right? Less Jiggle more wiggle.
2. A Massage gift certificate. I mean who on their right mind wouldn't want a massage? It's relaxing AND beneficial. I recommend Tommy Rosseli down at The Wave Salon in Shepherdsville. He's helped me a lot.
3. A boudoir session from Shanna Simpson photography (AKA Sassified by Shanna http://www.shannasimpson.com/blog ). Once you get in shape and get your relaxation on, you'll be ready to go for the photo shoot.
4. Dance lessons that you can go to together. Davey and I are going to do this very soon. I'll let you know how this goes seeing as we both are very "white" dancers...but hey..the couple who laughs together stays together.
5. A night in Indianapolis and stay at the Crowne Plaza (http://www.crowneplaza.com/hotels/us/en/home/clarify) and stay in the train car. All the night life is within walking distance including a huge mall. I actually got engaged here and love going back once a year.
Questions, Comments please email me. Concerns please file it in my complaint box located at the North Pole. All items must be hand delivered to be received.
Until we meet again.

Top Ten Reasons why you should.....
Many times (pre skinny body, not to be confused with this post baby weight now, different issue) I said to myself. Ehhh I feel like crap about my body, but my husband hasn't complained so..what's the point. The point was: I felt like crap. I didn't want to be naked, but I still wanted to be wanted. I went up another size in jeans and I was like well, my old ones probaby shrank in the dryer. I'll know not to buy that brand anymore. Or I thought, hmmm sizes must be running smaller these days. I'll get the bigger size to be more comfortable. All these lies I told myself to make myself feel better. It's so easy to lie to ourselves isn't it. A picture is worth a thousand words and when I finally saw myself in this picture. It was Game On and I joined Maximum Fitness.
Below I've listed a few reasons why you should join Maximum Fitness, while some of these are funny, there is also some truth to them. So read on and enjoy or not, its really your choice.
10. You know you need Maximum Fitness when: All the other cool people are doing it.
9. You know you need Maximum Fitness when: you look down at your lap and can no longer see your pieces and parts.
8. You know you need Maximum Fitness when: you get asked "When are you due?"
7. You know you need Maximum Fitness when: You notice parts of your body shake when someone sits next to you on the couch.
6.You know you need Maximum Fitness when: you've posted on facebook about how you need to lose weight, change your life or get healthy.
5. You know you need Maximum Fitness when: your walk to the kitchen makes you stop for breath.
4. You know you need Maximum Fitness when: your bath towels have shrunk
3. You know you need Maximum Fitness when: during more intimate moments you notice you're out of breath during foreplay and you just got undressed.
2. You know you need Maximum Fitness when: Your a DD cup and your a GUY.
1. You know you need Maximum Fitness when: You look at any of these and wonder how I know this about you.

New Years Resolution
Yes it's that time of year again, where people make resolutions and stick hard to them. Well at least for the first month. Gym memberships increase while parking decreases. Yet I've always said it won't be long before there are more parking spaces available. Clearly that is the wrong attitude to have considering that our country is so obese and unhealthy. I should be happy there are no parking spots available that means people are making an effort. The problem is people give up to soon. It's so easy to tack on the weight especially over the holidays, and so hard to get it back off.
I'm struggling myself right now. This post baby body sucks. I was doing really well with my work outs and eating right and then last week while my folks were in town, I blew it. So..nothing to do but get back up and start over again.
I've set some goals for myself this year. Attainable goals. I'd like to share them with you and maybe that will hold me accountable and then also challenge me to get them done.
1. Get my pre baby body back. Man I miss that feel good naked feeling.
2. Get my personal training certification. So I can show you how to get that feel good naked feeling.
3. Be a better person. I like me, but I can definitely improve upon patience, understanding and forgiving.
4. Make all of Greyson's food - Paleo style.
I'm still working on my 5 year plan but I can't wait to share it with you once I'm done with it. Share some of your year long goals with someone, me even.
Happy New Year to Everyone ! Good Luck in 2012.

Week One ~ Smashed!
Week one is over and done. It was a rough week. I was more sore than I have been in a long time. Mostly my legs since my arms are carrying around a 13 pound 7 week old and are bulking up. I thought since I carried around so much weight during pregnancy I would be okay, turns out..I was wrong. wrong. wrong. It's okay, I think my muscles are coming back and recognizing that they have work to do. Its still going to be a long ways away.
Most people find it hard to do things when they have a newborn, myself included. Its hard to get laundry done, to maintain a schedule, dishes, eating etc. But I force myself to take an hour out of my day, even if it means missing an hour of sleep to work out and be active. I take Greyson with me. He sits in his carrier and sleeps or watches and I work out.
Jessica and I worked out on Friday since I wasn't able to make boot camp. Although I didnt make it then, I did find time in the middle of the day to do it. Around the time I knew he'd be sleeping. We did 50 squats, 40 lunges, 30 sit ups, 20 push ups and 10 burpees. But we did it twice!! She of course beat me...but that's okay..I know I still have a long way to go. I also know that I won't give up! I've also found since I've been working out hard again that I have more energy..so I don't really miss that hour of sleep.
If you have children it's important that you set a routine for yourself, not just your child or children. You still have to eat, sleep, exercise and everything else you did before them.
1. Plan your meals ahead of time and cook in the middle of the day if you are off work. It's okay to heat things up. If you are working, take time out on the weekend to do some cooking for the week, if you find you don't have the time you want. Call a friend or family member to watch your children for a couple of hours while you do it. It WILL benefit you.
2. Consider working out the time you have to yourself each day. You don't have to think, you don't have to worry, you just do work. It will help you let off some steam as well. You won't feel so overloaded and bogged down.
3. Drink lots of water. Sometimes when your hungry, you're actually dehydrated. It will help prevent you from snacking on anything that's bad.
4. Remember...the healthier you are, the more energy you'll have, you'll feel like a Super Mom or Dad, also you'll be providing good examples to your children. It's important that they know that exercise and a good diet are important in keeping one healthy. Greyson and I stretch everyday..well in fact, I help him stretch right now. But my plan is to stretch with him each morning and to do an activity (when he's older) that helps get him moving about..one day I hope he will CrossFit with me!
I hope this helps new mommies and daddies. I took the first few weeks when I was recovering to think about and plan how this was going to work since Daddy isn't home a lot. Giving you something to go by and what worked for me will hopefully steer you in the right direction.
Having children doesn't mean that you can't have a healthy lifestyle. Do it. Be it. Keep it.

The Fat Loss Miracle Journey
So I've started working out again - 7 weeks post baby. I'm still not able to CrossFit like I want to, they said give it another couple of weeks, but I did go to boot camp. I started on Halloween..scary ehh. Musta been a full moon to get me to go since I was up with the babe quite a bit that night.
Working out was hard. It felt like I was starting from scratch again, I guess that's what pregnancy, plus 6 weeks of hospital bed rest will do for your body. Ugh. I have lead filled tree trunk legs...at least that's the amount of work I got out of them or at least seemed to. I almost even fell down some steps face first, now THAT would have been a sight to see. But I've started my journey and am going to write about it after each work out or weekly, whichever I have time for. I'd like for other people to know that it can be done because I'm going to do it, and that means its anyone's own will power to do what they want to do.

I'm baaaaaccckkkk
But who really knows for how long, I think my babe closed his eyes for a mere 30 seconds, 45 seconds ago, so I'm sure he will want something here shortly.
Boy sure wish someone would have warned me how much work this is, well my mom kinda did..when I was 16. "Chrissy you don't want a baby right now, live your life, go have fun." Well and I did. And it was a fun life and it still is..just in a different way. It's a different chapter of the same book with a well worn cover and the title half rubbed off.
I've just now reached my 6 week mark and I can start living again..mommies you know what that means...the ability to work out and be intimate with your husband, but the desire to do neither. Actually I can't wait to work out again, I feel like I have this pent up energy to go bust some butt and do 100 box jumps. Realistically I know that it won't quite happen like that.
My doctor released me to exercise, but not CrossFit since its pretty hard core. So basically I can walk on the treadmill or stairmaster, do some crunches maybe some leg lifts, and nothing over 20 pounds. Big Fat Boo! Heavy weight lifting can cause a prolapsed uterus, and we all know I don't need to be in the hospital on even more bed rest...I think I'd hang myself with a stethoscope. So a couple more weeks and I can get back to it. I am going to start building up my stamina again, its been so long since I've worked out, breaking a sweat will feel so new to me. It will be like starting over again.
It's going to be hard since I've already done this once and its much easier to maintain what you have than to have to start over again, BUT it will be worth it again to feel the way I felt before without all the added fluff I have now. I've lost 20 pounds so far but I still have about 30 to go.
Wish me Luck!
